The Process
Your skincare journey at Hudson Valley Beauty Lab & Medi Spa can start with your dermaplaning appointment. You can also start with a complimentary consultation to get an idea of what treatments would be right for you. During a consultation, we can talk with you about your goals for your skin. We get to know you and answer any question you might have, providing recommendations based on your concerns. Then we can get you an appointment!
As a luxury medical aesthetics spa, HVBL will do everything we can to make you comfortable when you show up for dermaplaning in Newburgh. You won’t have to wear or do anything specific for a dermaplaning appointment. You get to relax in a treatment room while we cleanse your face. We will use a sterile surgical blade to remove dead skin and facial hairs from your face, following it up with a hydrating moisturizer and sun protection.
After your dermaplaning facial is done, you will see an instant difference in your skin’s texture, tone and brightness! We will go over aftercare with you, though there is not much to worry about with dermaplaning. There is no downtime for this treatment, you can go back to your day as scheduled. You will not need to exfoliate for about two days, we do recommend the use of a gentle cleanser and a high-SPF broad spectrum moisturizer.
Pre-Care & Postcare
- Avoid tanning and sun exposure, be sure to wear an SPF cream to avoid sunburn!
- Avoid exfoliating the area to be treated about 3 days before your dermaplaning appointment.
- Avoid dermaplaning if you skin is experiencing acne, as the bacteria from acne could spread.
- Avoid sun exposure and continue to wear a high SPF cream.
- Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer following treatment.
