The Process
The first step in any treatment is our complimentary personal consultation. It’s a no-cost but very valuable opportunity to get to know you, discuss your overall concerns, and make sure that Hudson Valley Beauty Lab & Medi Spa is the right place to help you achieve your goals. If we’re a great fit, your provider will put together a custom, personalized treatment plan and schedule your Sculptra sessions.
When you come in for your Sculptra session, you get to relax in our luxurious spa-like setting as you’re treated like a red-carpet VIP. We’ll sanitize the treatment areas, removing any makeup that might be present. Then, your expert injector will skillfully place the Sculptra to diminish—and frequently erase—the signs of aging in your cheeks and around your mouth and chin. 2 to 4 treatments will be needed for best long-term results.
Once your initial treatment is completed, it usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the optimal results to be visible. You’ll see immediate results after your first session as it provides enhanced volume in the treatment area. Results continue to improve as your body is stimulated to produce new collagen. These results last up to 2 years or more, depending on lifestyle choices.
Pre and Post-Treatment Instructions
- Wear little to no makeup on the day of your treatment session.
- Avoid herbal supplements like garlic, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, St. John’s wort, and Omega-3 capsules.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine and medication that promotes bleeding.
- Gently give the treatment areas a circular massage 5 times a day, for 5 minutes each, for 5 days.
- Avoid sunlight/tanning beds/UV exposure on the treated area until any redness/swelling has fully subsided.
- Wait 14 days (or more, if instructed by your provider) before having laser treatments in the Sculptra treatment areas.

Injections of Sculptra in Newburgh require no downtime or recovery time. However, most of our clients do experience some swelling after an injection. This temporary condition can last a couple of days. And though it doesn’t require special treatment or concern, you may want to take some social downtime (but you can still work!).
Some clients experience little to no swelling post-appointment. Your provider will make sure you have guidelines in hand to get the best results. These HVBL guidelines should be followed closely. As always, we’re here to answer any questions before, during, and after your treatments!
