As an injector I feel this deeply, it’s complicated… let me explain.
As an injector, I provide women (mostly) options to ‘improve’ their appearance. Not because I pull them off the street and tell them they need to fix themselves but rather, they come to me because they feel uncomfortable or insecure. As an injector, I am always torn between our natural beauty, embracing changes and the ability to manipulate the aging process – so my patients feel confident. Yes that means… change. That also means that, when manipulated, our natural beauty becomes somewhat ‘unnatural.’ Am I wrong? It’s complex and sometimes even sounds hypocritical.
When I speak of ‘natural results,’ I use this term to best describe my approach. I strive to provide my patients an outcome that suits their goals, natural anatomy and one that does not cross the line. I never want my patients to look as though they’ve had work done. This is my style and my style is not right for everyone but it is right for those who choose me. I am not the injector who fills every line, fills every void or eliminates every ounce of the aging process. Doing so does not align with my perception of beauty. Beauty, to me, is the small imperfections that make us unique. I prefer to hold on to some of those. We, as women, are so critical of ourselves. We lose the ability at times to see our face and body as a whole. I come across this daily as I take my patients on a journey. We “fix” one thing and another thing becomes center of attention. It is my responsibility to remind women in my chair that there is no perfect… we are humans… with curves and lines and shadows.
We can camouflage, we can support, we can smooth, but to remove those small things that make us “real,” is just not my style.
Just some thoughts on this Sunday evening- Love you guys!♥️
